"Once our technical services department have received an event brief we begin by checking on the venue details in our database or, if needed, we undertake a venue reconnaissance visit. The next step is to plan and organise the build of the set and stage to a specification to suit the venue and the needs of the client, using CADs and WYSIWYG lighting system programmes to ensure we meet all the client’s needs and expectations for their specific event. The technical department is then ready to commence the construction of set and stage employing a variety of materials from steel and timber, to laminates and plastics.

We then design a lighting rig to suit the requirements of the event itself, be it an awards ceremony, corporate conference or even a product launch with a reveal of your new product! The technical department utilize a range of generic lighting and full moving head fixtures and even Kynesis (used for moving trusses to enhance the feel and atmosphere of an event.)

At Comtec we realise that spending time and energy on the big things can sometimes add risk to a project if it is at the expense of some of the 'behind the scenes' operations. Knowing the venue and its challenges is vital to the successful production of any live event. Mitigating any transportation risks as well as maintaining excellent third party relationships are also critical success factors.
